White Oaks Program
The White Oaks Program provides residential rehabilitation services for individuals with mental illness. It acts as a stepping stone for residents making the transition from illness to healthy community living.
Residents are presented with opportunities and supports to develop and or enhance their skills in the areas of: cooking, budgeting and banking, household tasks, life skills, personal awareness, decision making, community awareness, relationships, home safety, health care, employment, recreation and leisure. Clinical consultation is provided by Alberta Mental Health and the St. Therese Hospital Psychiatric Unit.
Basic Admission Criteria:
- An identifiable mental illness.
- 18 years or older and must voluntarily want to be admitted.
- An application and complete medical are required.
- A willingness to participate and work towards goals, program guidelines, safety regulations, house rules along with a treatment plan.
- No present substance abuse.
If an applicant is accepted, arrangements will be made for the individual to move in on a 90-day trial basis.
Referrals may be made to the Director of Residential Support Services
for individual funding at (780) 645-3441 or the White Oaks Residential
Supervisor at (780) 645-2936. An admissions committee consisting
of an Alberta Mental Health Department therapist, St. Paul Abilities
Network's mental health director and White Oaks staff reviews all
referral applications.
The Facility
A six- bedroom home is located in St. Paul. Staffing is provided
24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Room and board is $20.00 per
day.
