Community Participation Support Services

Day Support Services

Day Support Services provide a semi-retirement or retirement option to aging adults with developmental disabilities.

This program offers a leisure-orientated atmosphere tailored to the needs, desires and individuality of the participants. Choice and variety for seniors is provided in generic activities such as field trips, vacations, volunteer work, crafts, recreation and community awareness. The predominant theme is one of community participation. Services are presented as opportunities to become involved in the community in a valued and positive atmosphere.

Basic Admission Criteria:

  • A primary diagnosis of developmental disability.
  • 45 years of age or older.
  • Participants are not suitable for Employment Participation Programs.
  • A desire to take part in an individual service plan and achieve personal goals.

All referral applications must be submitted to the Director of Client Services at Habitat Enterprises and approved by the PDD Consultation Unit.

There is a $30 monthly user fee. Monthly coffee and related-fund dues are $5.00, if this option is selected.
