Distinctive Arts, Crafts & Catering

Distinctive Arts, Crafts & Catering supplies valuable opportunities for people with significant limitations to have contact with the community, for example: social isolation prevention and pre-vocational training.

The program will be modified to meet a participant's needs and offer them the opportunity to take part in activities that are important to them. It provides supports designed to meet the participant's needs while also assisting them with maintenance, acquisition or enhancement skills for:

  • Creative life situations
  • Communication
  • Socialization
  • Daily living tasks
  • Pre-vocational
  • Volunteer work
  • Leisure and community awareness

Basic Admission Criteria

  • A primary diagnosis of developmental disability.
  • 18 years of age and over. Applicants 16 to18 years of age may be considered.
  • An application and complete medical is required.
  • Behavior must not be disruptive by becoming a danger to the individual or others.

Priority is given to applicants within the Northeast region. Residential support staff and/or community resources will deal with medical management.

All referral applications must be submitted to the Career and Inclusion Support Services Director and approved by Persons with Developmental Disabilities Consultation Unit.

There is a $30 monthly user fee. Monthly coffee and related- fund dues are $5.00, if this option is chosen.
